On May 9, 2025, out-of-school time professionals are invited to attend Prime Time's annual Afterschool Symposium. Prime Time hosts its Afterschool Symposium every year to celebrate the exemplary efforts of our local out-of-school time practitioners while offering professional development workshops that deliver the tools to Empower Young Minds, Engage Communities and Create Lasting Impact so together we can help children and youth succeed by strengthening and expanding quality in the out-of-school time field.

Workshops
The Afterschool Symposium 2025 themed "Empowering Young Minds, Engaging Communities, Creating Lasting Impact" brings together the vision of expanding opportunities for youth, inspiring adults to strengthen their power and engagement potential, and ensuring the work we do creates positive change and leaves a meaningful and enduring impact on the community.
Workshops will focus on effective, proven methods that yield tangible results, allowing participants to learn and apply strategies for delivering safe and engaging out-of-school time (OST) programs and experiences that help youth to reach their full potential.
Out-of-school time (OST) programs support children and youth before school, after school, summer, weekends and during seasonal breaks.
Exhibitor On-the-Go
Offer youth meaningful out-of-time experiences, on May 9, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.through showcasing your products and services that promote skill-building such as teamwork, persistence, goal-setting, self-control and getting along with others, which could be linked to success in school, career and life. Prime Time anticipates the Symposium attracting more than 250 OST professionals from across the South Florida region who serve a myriad of organizations – public, private, faith-based, urban, suburban, rural, large and small.
- Application deadline is Friday, April 4, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
- Handouts/Brochures will be provided to Prime Time Palm Beach County, Inc. by Friday, April 18, 2025.
- Payment due to Prime Time by Friday, April 18, 2025.
- If providing a door prize and/or swag for our conference bag, items will be provided by Friday, April 18, 2025.
Advancing Afterschool Awards 2025
The Advancing Afterschool Awards honors exemplary individuals for their work in the field of afterschool. Recipients will be recognized for their commitment to quality standards, dedication to the children and contributions to the afterschool field at Prime Time Palm Beach County’s Afterschool Symposium. This is a peer nominated award ceremony.

Award Categories
Out of School Time Legacy Award:
This prestigious award recognizes an exceptional individual who has made a profound and lasting impact on the lives of young people through their dedication to afterschool programs. The recipient of the Legacy Award embodies the spirit of mentorship, fostering a positive and enriching environment that empowers young people to reach their full potential.
Excellence in Expanded Learning Award
A professional who works for a Prime Time expanded learning opportunity (ELO) provider who excels in providing high-quality, challenging, learning experiences in the following areas: Supporting School-day Academic Learning, Caring for the Whole Child, Discovering Arts and Culture, Leadership and Career Pathways and Exploring Technology.
Community Impact Award
A supporter of the afterschool field who is not employed by an afterschool program and provides support and services or advocates for children in out-of-school time hours, such as an individual volunteer who supports the program or a whole community organization. Community service organizations, such as Palm Beach County Youth Services Department, Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, Children’s Services Council of Martin County, United Way, Kiwanis, Rotary, elected officials, and faith-based entities are eligible to be nominated.
Quality Leadership in Out-of-school Time Award
Afterschool director or any individual who supervises/oversees school-age programming and staff, who excels in fostering high quality within his/her/their afterschool program and provides equal access to opportunities and resources to individuals. This person has shown extraordinary dedication, such as covering multiple roles and responsibilities, creating new policies and schedules, mentoring and developing staff.
Implementing Quality by an Afterschool Professional Award
An exceptional afterschool professional (counselor, group leader, activity leader, assistant or aide) who exemplifies the highest standards of positive youth development through mentorship and care, creating a safe and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
