Sunflower Creative Arts - Build & Play
Sunflower Creative Arts’ Build & Play program is a unique hands-on STEAM offering for grades K-5. During a Build & Play session, inside or outside, children are invited to direct their own play and have the opportunity to be creative and imaginative with the support of our caring play counselors. Play counselors set up a safe and engaging environment providing loose parts for endless exploration: open ended materials such as cardboard, tape, fabric, paper towel tubes, art supplies, recyclables, science ingredients and more.
Children can build and deconstruct structures, plan and test hypotheses, freely use loose parts, create costumes and props for pretend play, interact with nature, create with art materials, and play alone or with others all while developing the 4 C’s of: Creative thinking, Collaboration Skills, Critical thinking and Communication. Build & Play participants experience real world problem solving, hands-on learning, social and emotional skills, adaptability, resilience, confidence, discovery, fun and joy.
