To celebrate National Summer Learning Week, Prime Time Palm Beach County visited local summer camps that are participants of the Palm Beach County Quality Improvement System (QIS). You may be thinking, “a participant of what?” The QIS is basically a support system that Prime Time offers to year-round afterschool programs here in Palm Beach County to help elevate quality.
Prime Time wanted to show how summer programs are keeping campers learning, safe and healthy when school is out. We used the opportunity to capture Prime Time’s partners, Florida Fishing Academy, Young Singers of the Palm Beaches, Literacy of Coalition of Palm Beach County, NFTE and Curtanna, visiting summer camps where they provided amazing hands-on learning opportunities to the children and youth. Each partner organization engaged campers a different way, but all supported summer learning.
Prime Time showcased summer learning-in-action on its social media to reach audiences near and far, with the message to keep all children and youth safe, healthy and learning all summer long to prepare them to be ready to return to school in the fall.
#SummerLearningWeek rolls on with Masterpiece Day. Our partner @YSPBFL shows children the benefits found in the art of song. Studies show that singing increases self-confidence and self-esteem, and fosters leadership skills and ultimately develops good citizens. @summerlearning pic.twitter.com/8lBXM4IBki
