Andrea I. Hurtado

As a first generation Peruvian American, Ms. Hurtado continues to enrich her curiosity of the value of human connection and making a meaningful impact in the world. She began her journey with children and family services in 2007 at a community based afterschool program as a counselor and with time oversaw the development of a new middle school group. Embarking on her educational milestones, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and bachelor’s degree in behavioral health care from The University of South Florida Tampa ( GO BULLS!) In 2018, emerging with an abundance of collegiate project management abilities, she pivoted into the School District as an activity’s leader, guiding and creating new ideas for the afterschool program and their community. She graduated from Non-Profits First, Rising Leaders Program July 2024.
Supporting the foundation in afterschool programs to sustain and encourage new counselors in the field, by offering a multi-level approach of how program culture, positive language , and encouraging interactions retain and strengthen work groups has been her leadership focus since joining Prime Time in 2019 as a Quality Advisor. Providing bilingual sessions for adults and youth has flourished the power of community building and relationships. Andrea describes herself as a dog mom, creative writer, “hype woman”, and humanitarian; being an empathetic listener and learner of life.
