The Be Well Cafe – IN PERSON

We are very excited to be meeting up in person on the beach for our Be Well Café on January 29! Please set your alarms so you can arrive a few minutes early. We will park and gather in the public parking lot at 6620 North Ocean Boulevard, check in and then walk through the lovely mangrove-lined trail across to the beach.

If we anticipate rain we will move to a covered area in Oceanfront Park (paid parking and beach park) right across the street.

Please bring your coffee / tea, water bottle, check the weather and anything you need to be comfortable walking and on the sand. You will need to sign a waiver upon arrival. We will not be entering the water for safety reasons. Please call or text (954) 873 4508 if you are lost or arriving late. Here is a suggested flow for our gathering:

7:50 – 8:00 a.m. – arrive and check in

8:00 – 8:15 a.m. – mindful walk in nature

8:15 – 8:40 a.m. – movement and seated well-being practice on the beach

8:40 – 9:00 a.m. – sharing circle and closing

_______________

The Be Well Café is a weekly open and safe drop-in space for OST staff and stakeholders to de-stress, reset, and leverage our inner strengths as we respond to the daily demands and challenges of working in the OST field. The hour-long virtual sessions are informal and simple, following a flow of experiential well-being practice, honest sharing, empathetic listening and peer support.

We cover a broad range of guided self-care, stress reduction, resiliency, empathy and team-building exercises, practices and themes including mindfulness, art, music, humor, games and communication activities.  This well-being community of practice circle is a drop-in offering with neither attendance nor participation requirements.

  • Start your Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. with us!
  • Check-in about life in OST with fellow practitioners.
  • Practice evidence-based well-being exercises together to ease stress and navigate difficulties.
  • Exchange best practice stories of how to meet our and our youth/families needs to be well.

So, grab your coffee and start the day off with ease. Come as you are, take what you need, share as you like!  Spanish speakers welcome!
