Integrating Signature Practices in OST Activities (Virtual)
Wondering how to make real and tangible well-being and life connections in a variety of settings? This training offers simple and effective strategies to integrate well-being and life skills in any virtual session using signature practices such as welcoming rituals, engaging practices, brain breaks, and optimistic closures. Participants also walk away with templates for integrating signature practices in lesson plans.
Training Objectives
Participants will:
- Explore and practice simple signature practices that can be used in afterschool activities.
- Create a plan to integrate signature practices in afterschool activities.
Training Outcomes
Participants will:
- Plan and facilitate signature practices (welcomes, engaging practices and transitions, closings) in at least one activity with youth or in a staff interaction within one week of the training.
- Create or support staff in the creation of one week of lesson plans that integrate signature practices using the toolkit and the lesson planning template in at least one rotation for at least one youth group within one week of the training.
Upon successful completion of this training / series (see requirements below), the participant can earn up to 2 clock hours (.2 CEUs) of training.
