Expanded Learning Opportunities – STEAM

Prime Time strives to provide youth in grades 3-8 with a wide range of hands-on learning experiences. In partnership with local content expert organizations, Prime Time makes available providers focused on science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) to eligible afterschool and summer programs.

In 2023-2024, Prime Time STEAM providers offered 14,099 learning experiences that impacted 2,343 youth.

FAU Pine Jog Environmental Education Center - FAU SEED

FAU SEED will immerse youth in the world of plant conservation, inspiring a deep appreciation for the natural world while fostering a sense of environmental responsibility. By exploring plants' critical role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem, youth will better understand conservation efforts and how they can contribute to protecting the planet for future generations. The program emphasizes critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging youth to engage with real-world environmental challenges and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.

Loggerhead Marinelife Center - Diving into Ocean Connections

Loggerhead Marinelife Center's out-of-school time programs focus on promoting the conservation of ocean ecosystems with a special focus on threatened and endangered sea turtles. These programs will expose children to the wonderful underwater world as they discover Florida's marine biodiversity through interactive lessons and games. From stepping into the scrubs of an Aquatic Veterinarian to digitally diving on Florida's Coral Reef, the Diving into Ocean Connections lessons support STEAM learning through marine life and fun.

Youth Environmental Alliance - Full STEAM Ahead with YEA Eco-Edventures in Science

Youth Environmental Alliance offers science and environmental programs that engage children of all ages in hands-on eco-adventures and learning opportunities. Each of the programs offered support STEAM learning through observation, inquiry and experimentation. Youth will learn about environmental issues and solutions that will empower them to take action at home and in their community.
