Center for Creative Education (CCE), a Prime Time expanded learning opportunity provider, has reconvened its in-person sessions with Palm Beach County afterschool programs. The Center for Creative Education (CCE)’s out-of-school time program, CADRE, provides arts integration programming focused on developing social and emotional skills, building important habits of mind and foundational skills for success, and expanding on academic learning through the arts. In February, teaching artists visited Suncoast Christian Afterschool Program and North Grade Elementary Afterschool Program to work with youth in creating gardens from start to finish.
Youth worked together to design, plant and care for their own gardens while watching the life cycle of the butterflies and learning about the importance of taking care our environment. At the culmination of the sessions with CCE, the students were able to enjoy the produce they grew over time.
“Thanks to Prime Time and CCE , I have been and still am so blessed to be able to install butterfly gardens and vegetable gardens even during these times as I do my classes outside , I do not have to be virtual.”
