Boynton Beach – As online learning increases globally in response to school closures and COVID-19 disruptions, families at home will benefit from activities designed to keep children learning with fun, hands-on activities. Prime Time, an out-of-school time (OST) intermediary that connects afterschool and summer programs to a menu of resources and offerings to increase their overall quality, is now offering fun and engaging resources and activities that families can do at home to continue learning. All activities are offered based on grades K-2, 3-5 and 6-8 are provided by local content experts that include the Palm Beach Zoo, Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County, Center for Creative Education and many more.
In addition, Prime Time is offering stipends to afterschool practitioners who are not currently working due to COVID-19. Stipends are offered to practitioners who attend and complete Prime Time’s virtual professional development trainings. All trainings are developed to empower OST practitioners to create safe, supportive and welcoming environments, and to encourage positive social interactions with youth.
Many of us are feeling anxious or worried, a feeling a loss of control amid COVID-19, so Prime Time is offering a virtual on-demand offering designed to provide basic practice tools that can help us cultivate awareness, self-care and resilience, particularly during challenging times. The Seven-Day Self-Care Challenge includes seven pre-recorded 15-20 minute video sessions that will guide you through step-by-step mindful awareness practices, movement and breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques that promote stress and anxiety reduction and overall well-being.
