Every young person deserves both a quality education and the rich and varied opportunities and supports available in out-of-school time programs. With access to quality programs after school and during the summer, young people can explore their interests, build relationships, and engage with their communities.
Join U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and the Afterschool Alliance, AASA, the School Superintendents Association, National League of Cities, National Summer Learning Association, and the National Comprehensive Center at Westat on Thursday, July 14, at 2:00 p.m., for a special event that will celebrate National Summer Learning Week and feature students, leaders including Prime Time’s Suzette L. Harvey (pictured right) and exemplary programs from school districts, cities, and afterschool and summer learning programs.
National Summer Learning Week is a celebration dedicated to elevating the importance of keeping kids learning, safe, and healthy every summer, ensuring they return to school ready to succeed in the year. This year, we’re bringing back themes you can use to highlight activities during the celebration. Some suggested themes are: Discover STEM and Soar, Winning at Health and Wellness, Make a Masterpiece, Celebrate Future Leaders, and Dive into a Book Adventure.
