Diversity Education 101: Implicit Bias & Stereotypes

In line with Show & Heal’s mission to educate youth in and advocate for diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, this workshop is centered on implicit bias and stereotypes. Break down the meaning of these terms, along with challenging children to reflect on their own experiences, through mindfulness, guided activity and discussion. The goal is to not only have an open dialogue on how bias and stereotyping can make us feel, but also provide tools that we as a community can use to combat it

Materials Needed:

  • Educational video and presentation on implicit bias and stereotypes (provided during session).
  • Pen and paper or phone for taking notes. After session, you’ll receive a list of resources and tools to support your journey in education and advocacy of diversity.
